Recreation Assistant (Facility Assistant) – Fitness Facility

About the role

The Recreation Assistant supports the Facility Manager in the daily operation of a military fitness center. You will interact directly with patrons, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment while promoting fitness programs and events.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Facility Manager with overall management and operation of the fitness facility.
• Circulate among patrons to provide information, instruction on equipment use, and ensure satisfactory service.
• Support publicity and marketing efforts by preparing posters, flyers, and other promotional materials.
• Issue and receive equipment to authorized users and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Monitor equipment condition, track maintenance, repairs, or replacements as needed.

Required profile

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card required.
• Pass background, qualification, and eligibility checks; one‑year probationary period may apply.
• Occasional driving duties – must obtain and maintain a valid USAREUR driver’s license and TMP license.
• Hold current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, and Equipment Safe Operation/Basic Maintenance Repair certifications.
• Two‑page resume demonstrating experience operating multiple fitness facilities; no formal education requirement.
