Robot Learning Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an entry‑level Robot Learning Engineer to join our fast‑growing industrial robotics startup in Munich. You will work directly on a real robotic work cell, applying state‑of‑the‑art machine learning to solve challenging automation tasks such as surface finishing, welding and coating.

Key responsibilities

• Research, develop and evaluate machine‑learning models for robot perception and task understanding.
• Apply computer‑vision and deep‑learning techniques to multi‑modal sensor streams (cameras, depth sensors, force/torque).
• Experiment with reinforcement learning and imitation learning for robot control.
• Integrate trained models into a ROS 2 robotics stack and run rigorous experiments on‑site.
• Bridge the gap between research prototypes and real‑world factory deployment.

Required profile

• 0–3 years of experience (new graduates welcome) with a BSc/MSc in Robotics, Computer Science, AI/ML or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in robot learning, computer vision or ML for physical systems.
• Proficiency in Python and hands‑on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
• Experience with ROS/ROS 2, simulation tools (Isaac Sim, PyBullet, MuJoCo) or 3D perception is advantageous.
