Safety Engineer

About the role
Embed safety and reliability into the DNA of our construction robots. As a safety innovator you will ensure that cutting‑edge designs meet all regulatory requirements and set new safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead functional safety and compliance activities, covering the Machinery Directive, RED and EMC regulations.
- Develop and validate hazard analyses such as FMEA and HARA.
- Design and review safety circuits and interlock systems.
- Maintain safety documentation and manage internal and external audits.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to integrate safety throughout the product lifecycle.
Required profile
- 2–3 years of experience in functional safety or systems engineering.
- Proficiency in German and English.
- Experience in a startup or robotics environment is a plus.
Required skills
- Functional safety standards: ISO 12100, ISO 13849, IEC 61508.
- Hazard analysis methods: FMEA, HARA.
- Regulatory knowledge: Machinery Directive, RED, EMC.
- Design of safety circuits and interlock mechanisms.
- Broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical and software domains.
