Security Engineer – EU/UK Remote

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Security Engineer to join Pliant’s security team. The role focuses on DevSecOps, cloud security on AWS and automation, helping embed security into our payment platform without slowing innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle to protect products, infrastructure and customer data.
• Design, implement and maintain automation tooling for patch management, vulnerability management and compliance evidence collection.
• Embed security controls and guardrails into the developer platform, including reusable Terraform and Docker modules.
• Harden containerised workloads on ECS and EKS, enforce image signing, least‑privilege IAM roles and runtime anomaly detection.
• Deploy and manage cloud security platforms such as Wiz and drive remediation workflows.
• Automate audit‑ready evidence collection for PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2 and DORA.
• Lead vulnerability triage, incident response and post‑mortems, and conduct threat modelling and architecture reviews.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a technical security role, preferably in a cloud‑native or fintech/SaaS environment.
• Strong proficiency with AWS security services (IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, S3, GuardDuty, SCPs, etc.).
• Deep understanding of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD integration.
• Proficiency in Terraform and ability to write secure, reusable IaC modules.
• Experience securing containers (Docker, ECS, EKS or Kubernetes) and hardened base images.
• Expert knowledge of OWASP Top 10, secure coding and software supply‑chain risks.
