Senior C++ Software Engineer (Hybrid, up to 60% remote)

About the role

Rohde & Schwarz is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specialized in modern C++ to join its development team in Kiel. You will work on high‑performance, scalable solutions while collaborating with cross‑functional experts in a flexible hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex, high‑performance C++ software using C++23 and Qt.
• Drive test automation and create unit and integration tests, for example with Catch2.
• Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and overall engineering quality.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior and mid‑level developers.
• Act as the primary technical contact for complex challenges and conduct regular pair‑programming sessions.

Required profile

• Several years of professional C++ development experience, preferably with C++23 and Qt.
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns and experience architecting distributed systems.
• Proven track record of leading development teams and explaining complex topics clearly.
• Business‑fluent German (C1) and working proficiency in English.
• Willingness to obtain NfD security clearance.
