Senior Construction Manager – Data Center Delivery

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a hyperscale data centre in Frankfurt. Acting as Fractera’s on‑site representative, you will oversee daily construction activities, coordinate with the main contractor and subcontractors, and ensure the project is delivered on schedule, to specification and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide full‑time PMC presence on site throughout construction and commissioning phases.
• Chair and minute weekly site progress meetings with the main contractor and subcontractors.
• Monitor and report contractor performance against programme and quality standards.
• Review and approve the contractor’s 4‑week look‑ahead programme; escalate any delays.
• Manage site access, logistics and sequencing to minimise programme risk.
• Inspect works in progress to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and standards.
• Review and accept Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and witness hold‑point inspections.
• Issue and track Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) to closure.
• Review material submittals and shop drawings for compliance before approval.
• Manage the snagging and defects process through to practical completion.
• Monitor actual progress against the baseline programme daily and flag any slippage.
• Coordinate with the Construction Scheduler on programme updates and recovery plans.
• Manage the critical path for structural, envelope and MEP works.
• Track long‑lead equipment deliveries and ensure site readiness for installation.
• Act as the primary PMC point of contact for contractors, subcontractors and third parties.
• Manage interfaces between civil/structural, MEP and fit‑out contractors.
• Liaise with commissioning teams to ensure construction activities are commissioning‑ready.
• Coordinate with the HSE Manager on safety matters and stop unsafe work when necessary.
• Report daily/weekly site status, issues and risks to the PMC Project Lead.

Required profile

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of construction site management experience.
• At least 3 years of experience delivering data centre or other mission‑critical facilities.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale construction programmes on time and to quality standards.
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance, inspection processes and health & safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and shop drawings.
