Senior Hardware Engineer – Electronics Design

About the role

Skeleton Technologies is seeking a driven Senior Hardware Engineer to lead the definition and development of electronic hardware for high‑power energy storage solutions. You will translate system‑level requirements into detailed specifications for over 100 devices per year, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Define electronics functionality and create detailed hardware specifications.
• Conduct risk, reliability, and redundancy analyses such as FMEA and FTA.
• Develop concepts, select components, and design schematics, PCB layouts, wiring, and interfaces.
• Perform electrical simulations, support DFM/DFT activities, and collaborate with manufacturing partners.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation, reports, manuals, and production files.
• Validate end‑of‑line testing, analyse yield data, and drive continuous improvement.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams including software, mechanics, testing, and production.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics design for small‑series or large‑scale production.
• Hands‑on experience transitioning designs to manufacturing, including DFM/DFT and test setup.
• Proven ability to perform EoL testing, yield analysis, and failure analysis.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electronics, mechatronics, electrical engineering or embedded systems.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Schematic design and PCB layout (Altium Designer or comparable ECAD tool).
• Component selection, prototyping, and testing.
• Electrical simulation tools (LTspice, Matlab).
• Risk analysis methods (FMEA, FTA).
• DFM/DFT and industrialisation knowledge.
• Basic data analysis in Excel.
