Senior Java Software Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Java Software Engineer you will deliver high‑quality, scalable Java applications that meet both functional and non‑functional requirements. You will work in an international, inclusive team, creating comprehensive documentation and following best coding, CI/CD, and deployment standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Java backend services.
• Implement micro‑services using Spring Framework and ensure reliable persistence with JDBC and relational databases.
• Produce clear technical documentation and adhere to coding standards.
• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and automated unit testing.
• Participate in architectural discussions and follow design guidelines.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional Java backend development experience.
• Strong grasp of OOP concepts and software design principles.
• Proficiency with Spring Framework, JDBC, and relational database concepts.
• Experience with SOAP and REST web services, micro‑services architecture, and unit testing.
• Fluent in German and English, comfortable working in a distributed, virtual team.
