Senior Legal Counsel – Energy

About the role

Aggreko is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its energy business in Germany. The role is hybrid, allowing you to work from one of several German offices while supporting the company’s rapid growth across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as terms & conditions, supply agreements, power purchase agreements and framework agreements.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice on commercial, regulatory and strategic matters for Germany and wider Europe.
• Support real‑estate transactions, dispute resolution and corporate documentation, coordinating with treasury and company secretarial teams.
• Ensure compliance with contract risk‑management policies and internal compliance frameworks.
• Build and manage relationships with external counsel, securing regional expertise and value for money.

Required profile

• Qualified German lawyer with at least 8 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong background in commercial law and contract negotiation within the energy, infrastructure or related sectors.
• Fluent in German and business‑level English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic, and able to work independently with sound judgement.
• Experience in project‑based or regulated environments.
