Senior Legal Counsel - Energy

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join Aggreko’s Energy business in Germany. The role will be based in one of our key locations (Dorsten, Munich, Frankfurt, Leipzig or Hamburg) and will operate on a hybrid basis, providing pragmatic legal support to drive business growth while managing risk.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as supply contracts, power purchase agreements and framework agreements.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice on commercial, regulatory and strategic matters across Germany and wider Europe.
• Support real‑estate transactions, dispute management and corporate documentation, coordinating with treasury and company secretarial teams.
• Ensure compliance with contract risk‑management policies and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Build and manage relationships with external counsel to secure regional expertise and value for money.

Required profile

• Qualified German lawyer with at least 8 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong background in commercial law and contract negotiation within the energy, infrastructure or related sectors.
• Fluent in German and business‑level English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and able to work independently with sound judgement.
• Experience in project‑based or regulated environments.
