Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

Deminor is seeking a German‑qualified lawyer to lead litigation funding opportunities across Germany and the DACH region. Based in Düsseldorf, you will combine legal practice with strategic investment, shaping case strategy and delivering outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and manage litigation funding opportunities, collaborating with clients, counsel, experts and Deminor’s multidisciplinary team.
• Oversee the full investment selection process, from sourcing and due diligence to committee approval and contract closing.
• Draft funding documentation, monitor disputes, and manage cases through to resolution, ensuring return on investment.
• Contribute to business development and marketing initiatives to expand Deminor’s presence in German‑speaking markets.
• Support cross‑border funding opportunities within Deminor’s international portfolio.

Required profile

• German‑qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of experience in litigation, commercial disputes or dispute resolution.
• Outstanding academic record with German law degrees and successful state examinations.
• Experience in a German law firm’s dispute resolution department or a large corporation handling German litigation.
• Native‑level German and excellent English; additional languages are a plus.
• Analytical, commercially minded, and able to think strategically beyond pure legal analysis.
