Senior Legal Counsel (m/w/d) Germany

About the role

SD Worx, a European payroll and HR services provider, is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel for Germany. You will work closely with German colleagues and the other Legal Counsels in Europe and Mauritius, reporting to the Director Legal Business Partners. The legal team gives proactive, practical advice on commercial, contract and IT law and supports strategic projects across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Advise German business stakeholders on legal matters such as risk analysis and project support
• Negotiate, draft and review commercial agreements, including customer and supplier contracts and general terms and conditions
• Support claims handling and follow-up litigation with external experts and lawyers
• Create and update legal templates and best practices, and follow up on new local legislation
• Take part in the Management Team of Germany, with possible travel within Germany several times a year
• Help communicate and implement legal policies and train internal stakeholders

Required profile

• Master's degree in German law
• At least 10 years' experience as an attorney and/or in-house counsel, with a focus on commercial, contract and/or IT law
• Effective German and English, oral and in writing
• Ability to turn legal complexity into clear, pragmatic advice
• Strong analytical, negotiation and contract drafting skills, and good organisational skills
