Senior Mass Spectrometry & Analytics Professional (Hybrid)

About the role

In the Agricultural Products Environmental Fate unit you will support the identification and characterization of transformation products and unknown compounds formed during drinking‑water treatment, using state‑of‑the‑art high‑resolution mass spectrometry.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze complex HRMS datasets to detect transformation products and unknown compounds.
• Perform software‑based non‑target screening (NTS) and plan, conduct, and interpret MS/MS fragmentation experiments.
• Document and communicate results to internal and external partners and contribute to method development for non‑target and suspect screening.

Required profile

• Completed degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Food Chemistry or a comparable scientific field.
• In‑depth knowledge of high‑resolution mass spectrometry data analysis and experience with non‑target screening.
• Hands‑on experience with Orbitrap or ToF instruments and related software.
• Independent, analytical working style with strong team spirit; fluent English (German a plus).

• Experience with Orbitrap and Time‑of‑Flight (ToF) mass spectrometers.
• Software packages such as Compound Discoverer, MZmine, MS‑DIAL.
• MS/MS fragmentation experiment planning and interpretation.
