Senior Media & Communications Officer – Berlin/Munich

About the role

STARK is seeking a Senior Media & Communications Officer to join its communications team in Berlin (or Munich). Reporting to the VP Media Relations, you will help shape the company’s reputation across Germany and internationally, focusing on media relations, content creation and strategic messaging.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute media strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Proactively pitch stories and maintain relationships with German and international media outlets.
• Draft press releases, op‑eds, briefings, Q&As and reactive statements in English and German.
• Monitor media coverage, provide analysis and insights to internal stakeholders.
• Support major announcements, media events and leadership engagements.
• Ensure message consistency across all external communications.
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce content showcasing technology, partnerships and impact.
• Serve as primary contact for media enquiries.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years experience in communications, journalism or media relations, preferably in defence or security.
• Strong understanding of the German and European media landscape with a proven record of securing coverage.
• Native‑level fluency in German and English (or vice‑versa).
• Experience handling sensitive, high‑stakes media moments and crisis communications.
• Comfortable working with senior executives and external stakeholders.
• Highly organized, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
