Senior Media Relations & Employee Communications Lead

About the role

Based in Berlin, you will join Nike’s German Communications team to shape powerful storytelling that inspires consumers, athletes, and employees. Reporting to the Communications Director, Germany, you will work closely with local and EMEA teams across Communications, Marketing, Sports Marketing, and Sales.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Germany‑specific mid‑ and long‑term communications strategies that reinforce Nike’s leadership in sport.
• Craft and execute sport‑ and culture‑driven communication moments and campaigns from concept through execution.
• Translate key brand messages for internal audiences and strengthen employee engagement.
• Build, nurture, and leverage a sophisticated media and creator network across traditional, social, and vertical outlets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to ensure consistent brand voice in the German market.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in communications and a strong understanding of the German media landscape.
• Proven ability to create storytelling‑led impact for Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences.
• Strategic, collaborative, and agile mindset with a passion for sport, style, and culture.
• Curiosity, creativity, and a growth mindset.
• Strong knowledge of the sportswear industry and running culture.

Required skills

• Extensive experience in communications or public relations for major sports or global organisations.
• Senior‑level media network in Germany across traditional, social, and vertical outlets.
• Deep understanding of evolving social and sports platforms that engage younger audiences.
• Proven track record of creating and executing strategic communications plans.
• Expertise in managing executive‑level stakeholders and end‑to‑end project management, including budgeting and agency coordination.
