Senior Scientist – Drug Product (12‑month contract)

About the role

Sanofi’s Global CMC organization is looking for a Senior Scientist in the Drug Product (DP) Design team based in Frankfurt. The role focuses on the design and development of pre‑clinical and clinical formulations, supporting new medicines from early research through to clinical testing.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the formulation expert in global R&D project teams for pre‑clinical and clinical formulation development.
• Provide formulation strategies, early biopharmaceutical risk assessments and candidate profiling.
• Supply and manage materials for various pre‑clinical studies.
• Evaluate, interpret and present formulation data and progress reports.
• Collaborate closely with global CMC, pharmacokinetics, pre‑clinical safety, medicinal chemistry and therapeutic area teams.
• Contribute to the evolution of analytical methods, working practices and formulation strategies.
• Oversee laboratory management, including equipment maintenance and documentation.
• Instruct and train laboratory technicians.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences or a related natural science.
• Strong scientific background in formulation development.
• Experience with biopharmaceutical experimentation and modelling.
• Fluent spoken German for effective communication with lab staff.
• Excellent written and oral English communication and presentation skills.
