Senior Software Developer Back-end (Java)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer specialized in back‑end Java to build scalable, high‑performance microservices that support AUTODOC’s growing e‑commerce platform. You will play a key role in migrating our legacy PHP monolith to a modern, cloud‑native architecture using Java, Kafka and PostgreSQL.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the migration from PHP monoliths to a microservice‑based ecosystem.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java microservices integrated with Kafka and PostgreSQL.
• Apply test‑driven development and automate testing processes.
• Implement service monitoring, alerting and incident mitigation using Grafana and OpenTelemetry.
• Collaborate with senior engineers across teams to align technical decisions.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional experience with Java or Kotlin.
• Strong background in PostgreSQL, MongoDB and handling large data volumes.
• Proven experience designing large‑scale, distributed applications; microservices and cloud experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles, OOP and software architecture patterns.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Upper‑intermediate English (B2) proficiency.
