Senior Software Engineer – Backend & AI Agents

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Rapid Data’s backend team. You will design and implement distributed, event‑driven services that power our core funeral‑industry ERP and CRM platform, with a strong focus on integrating AI agents into production workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑performance backend services in C# across a distributed architecture.
• Design, implement, and operate message‑driven systems using RabbitMQ or comparable brokers.
• Architect, build, and ship AI‑agentic workflows that are embedded in the core product.
• Collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to deliver reliable, well‑tested features.
• Contribute to engineering standards and help raise the technical bar for the team.

Required profile

• Several years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in C# and ownership of complex services end‑to‑end.
• Hands‑on experience building AI‑agentic systems in a production environment.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous patterns, and event‑driven design.
• Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka or Azure Service Bus.
