Senior Software Engineer - Dynamic Tables

About the role

We are hiring Senior Software Engineers for the Dynamic Tables team in Berlin to build the next‑generation data platform that lets customers transform data with declarative SQL while controlling cost, latency and throughput. The role involves tackling complex database problems and delivering reliable, high‑performance software for large enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Work with a talented and collaborative team of engineers and Product Managers in a globally distributed environment to define capabilities and technical designs for Dynamic Tables.
• Interact with customers to understand their needs and translate them into product and technical roadmaps.
• Drive new capabilities and performance improvements from inception to production.
• Build highly reliable and performant software that meets the scale and reliability demands of the largest enterprise customers.
• Analyze and solve performance, correctness, and fault‑tolerance challenges at scale.
• Ensure operational readiness of services and meet commitments regarding reliability, availability, and performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of industry experience designing and building distributed data systems.
• 3+ years of experience with the internals of query compilers.
• Experience building enterprise‑grade, reliable, and trustworthy software or services.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and strong CS fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, relational algebra, or SQL.
• Adaptive and collaborative mindset, eager to mentor and learn.
• Strong English communication skills.
