Senior Specialist, Internal Audit

About the role

Bitpanda is building an internal audit function for the DACH region and needs a senior specialist to lead the transition from outsourced to in‑house audits. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, ensuring audit activities align with the company’s high standards for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of an audit strategy for the Group, focusing on the DACH region.
• Assist in implementing audit initiatives, collaborating with first and second lines of defence.
• Identify and address potential risks, refining audit approaches as needed.
• Provide audit insights to product development teams to enhance security and compliance.
• Occasionally travel to support audit activities and adapt to new challenges.

Required profile

• Degree in Law, Business Administration or a comparable field.
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or actively pursuing certification.
• 3‑5 years of professional audit experience, preferably in the financial industry.
• Good understanding of EU regulatory frameworks such as MiCAR, MiFID II, PSD2, AML, GDPR.
• Fluent in German and English.
