Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to lead European tax compliance, accounting, and cross‑border financial support for our operations. The role is based in Germany and serves as the primary liaison between local entities and the China headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual VAT, intra‑group stock transfer and cross‑border transaction filings across all European regions.
• Handle corporate income tax estimation, provisional filings and annual tax return preparation for European entities.
• Monitor updates to European tax legislation and ensure accounting records and filings remain compliant.
• Act as the main point of contact for tax authorities, coordinating inquiries, audits, objections and appeals.
• Perform full‑cycle bookkeeping in line with local GAAP, including transaction processing, voucher review and posting.
• Oversee accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliations, fixed‑asset depreciation and cost allocation.
• Prepare statutory financial statements, profit & loss reports and other required local financial reports.
• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate smooth annual statutory audits.
• Liaise with the China HQ finance team, providing timely updates on European fiscal and tax policies.
• Manage end‑to‑end handling of official business correspondence, ensuring seamless information flow between regions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Fluent in German and/or English.
• Based in Germany.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in accounting or taxation.
• Experience in a Big Four firm (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG) is highly preferred.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and highly responsible with strong communication skills.
