Senior Tax Manager – Private Markets

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join a globally active asset‑management firm. The role focuses on providing transaction tax advice for complex cross‑border deals within the Private Markets platform, especially private credit, direct lending, and restructuring transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary tax specialist for Private Markets investment transactions, covering tax due diligence, deal structuring and documentation.
• Advise on tax aspects of new financings, debt amendments, covenant waivers, refinancings and distressed or workout situations.
• Assess tax impacts on deal economics, financial projections and cash‑flow dynamics at the investor level.
• Prepare investment, refinancing and restructuring submissions for internal approval bodies.
• Manage external tax counsel across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring quality, consistency and cost‑effectiveness.
• Address tax‑related portfolio management matters, including withholding tax procedures and tax risk frameworks.
• Drive integration of AI‑powered tools, automation and technology into transaction‑tax workflows.

Required profile

• Fully qualified tax professional and/or lawyer with a strong academic background.
• Minimum 6 years of transaction‑tax experience in an international law firm, professional services firm or comparable in‑house environment.
• Demonstrated exposure to private credit, debt financing, restructurings or distressed situations.
• Solid understanding of cross‑border deal structures, fund vehicles and financing arrangements typical in Private Markets.
