Shift Engineer – Hotel Technical Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Shift Engineer to join the engineering team at The Hoxton, Charlottenburg. You will be responsible for keeping the hotel’s technical systems running smoothly and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure daily technical operations run efficiently across the hotel.
• Carry out minor repairs and troubleshoot issues in all hotel areas.
• Operate, maintain and document technical installations and equipment.
• Inspect and maintain safety and fire‑protection systems in line with regulations.
• Perform painting, repair and general maintenance tasks to preserve facility standards.
• Coordinate material and supply requirements with other departments.
• Take ownership of the hotel’s technical infrastructure, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training in Electrical, Plumbing, Building Services or a related trade.
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician, Shift Engineer, Electrician or similar role (preferred).
• Fluent in German and English.
• Hands‑on problem‑solving attitude and ability to work shifts, including weekends.
• Proactive team player who can also work independently.
