Software Engineer – B2B SaaS (Hybrid, Berlin)

About the role

Join Packa’s engineering team to build and scale the first end‑to‑end SaaS platform for intelligent packaging management. You will work directly with the leadership team in a hybrid setting in Berlin, contributing to a fast‑growing, well‑funded startup that is transforming a heavily regulated industry.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the technical evolution of the platform, improving robustness, performance and scalability.
• Participate in architectural and design decisions for features, data models, APIs and tooling.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Business stakeholders to shape solutions that meet user needs.
• Own the full development lifecycle: task breakdown, implementation, deployment and production monitoring.
• Perform code reviews, write tests and maintain clear documentation.
• Work closely with senior engineers and the Tech Lead through pair programming and architecture sessions.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of software development experience, preferably in a scaling SaaS environment.
• Strong command of TypeScript and Node.js, with experience using NestJS on the backend.
• Familiarity with modern frontend technologies such as React.
• Ability to design APIs, model data and evaluate trade‑offs between architectural approaches.
• Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment processes.
• Solution‑oriented mindset, fluent English (German a plus), and a proactive attitude toward asking for help when needed.
