Sourcing Expert – Strategic Procurement (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

British American Tobacco Germany is seeking a Sourcing Expert to lead strategic procurement for indirect spend categories, including marketing professional services, digital solutions, and POS/retail services. This is a 2‑year fixed‑term position covering parental leave, based in Hamburg.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end strategic sourcing and tender management for indirect spend, especially marketing, digital, and retail solutions.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies, conduct market analysis, select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and make commercial decisions aligned with business priorities.
• Manage governance and approval processes, preparing materials for tender committees and ensuring compliance with internal procurement policies.
• Provide strategic stakeholder management and advisory support to Business Development, Consumer Experience, Finance, Legal, and Global Procurement functions.
• Oversee supplier and contract lifecycle, including contract structuring, cost analysis, and savings calculation using Coupa and Icertis.
• Utilise e‑auction tools and other procurement technologies to drive efficiency.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of proven procurement experience, preferably in marketing categories.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, spend analysis, and supplier management.
• Excellent commercial awareness, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Proactive, results‑oriented team player with a drive for continuous improvement.
