Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) – Full‑time

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) with a master’s level qualification in School Nursing. The post holder will manage a caseload of children and young people, focusing on emotional health, wellbeing, child protection and transition support.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care programmes for children and young people in partnership with families and carers.
• Deliver evidence‑based emotional health and wellbeing interventions (Tier 1 and Tier 2).
• Provide child protection support and facilitate transition work.
• Support preceptorship for junior staff and SCPHN students.
• Participate in supervision, research, audit and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Undertake continual professional development to meet nationally agreed clinical pathways.

Required profile

• Live NMC UK PIN.
• Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (School Nurse) registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Council register.
• Master’s level qualification in School Nursing (SCPHN).
• Experience in emotional health, wellbeing interventions and child protection.
• Evidence of ongoing post‑registration CPD.

• Shift pattern: Monday‑Thursday 08:30‑16:30, Friday 08:30‑16:00.
• Placement at South‑Pollok Health Centre or Community Centre for Health in Partick.
