Staff Android Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Android Engineer to lead the evolution of our enterprise‑grade mobile platform in Germany. This senior position combines deep hands‑on Android expertise with strategic ownership of the Android architecture that powers AI‑driven market intelligence for thousands of customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the Android platform architecture, defining modular structures, engineering standards, and scalable native patterns.
• Lead end‑to‑end Android system design, translating complex product and technical requirements into resilient, production‑grade solutions.
• Shape testing strategies, release processes, observability, automation, and AI‑supported validation frameworks to improve delivery reliability.
• Define and maintain mobile system contracts in collaboration with backend, iOS, product, and design teams.
• Elevate engineering quality by introducing reusable patterns, technical standards, and strong architectural decision‑making practices.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in modern Android development with a proven track record of owning architecture or leading platform‑level initiatives.
• Strong understanding of mobile system design, API contracts, backend interactions, and cross‑platform trade‑offs.
• Ability to contribute to and debug backend systems when needed.
• Experience improving release reliability, CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and production observability.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted engineering practices.
• Excellent cross‑functional communication and mentoring skills.
