Staff Mobile Engineer – Retail

About the role

Wolt is looking for a Staff Mobile Engineer to shape how customers discover, browse and purchase retail products across Wolt, DoorDash and Deliveroo. You will work on large‑scale B2C consumer apps, primarily focusing on iOS while also contributing to Android, to deliver a seamless shopping experience for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex cross‑team initiatives from design through launch and operational ownership, partnering with product, design and business stakeholders.
• Drive and implement native iOS and Android features within shared consumer‑facing apps, balancing speed, quality and long‑term maintainability.
• Evolve the server‑driven UI (SDUI) approach, creating configurable, component‑based views.
• Anticipate future product and architectural needs, establishing standards for testing, release processes, observability and incident management.
• Champion AI‑enabled tooling that accelerates mobile development without compromising quality.
• Communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences, providing estimates, timelines and trade‑offs.
• Mentor engineers, including those transitioning to mobile, and uphold engineering culture across teams.

Required profile

• Proven ability to deliver measurable impact and mentor junior engineers.
• Comfortable communicating complex decisions to diverse stakeholders.
