Staff Product Manager - Robotics & Safety

About the role

RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics and needs a senior product leader to own the long‑term vision for its software, AI and hardware capabilities. The Staff Product Manager – Robotics & Safety will bridge digital intelligence and physical systems to deliver safe, modular automation across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Define and shape the long‑term roadmap for software, AI and hardware, setting strategic direction for smart, modular and safe automation.
• Drive integration between software intelligence and mechanical systems, ensuring high‑performance and safe experiences across product lines.
• Partner with customers, executives and engineering leaders to translate requirements into product specifications, embedding safety and regulatory considerations.
• Provide senior guidance on concept validation, component selection and prototype reviews for new modules and mechanical sub‑systems.
• Translate emerging technical capabilities into coherent product strategy, covering perception, motion optimisation, predictive maintenance and risk mitigation.
• Establish testing frameworks, data analysis and continuous‑improvement processes for both hardware and software.

Required profile

• 10+ years of product management experience in robotics, automation or mechatronic systems with both software and hardware exposure.
• Proven track record of end‑to‑end product strategy, go‑to‑market decisions and senior cross‑functional alignment.
• Strong understanding of software architectures, APIs, cloud systems and safety‑related requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical design, component testing and manufacturing readiness.
• Ability to discuss robot kinematics, sensors, drive systems and control architectures at a technical level.
• Experience mentoring other product managers and leading complex multi‑team projects.
