Staff/Lead Platform & DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Staff/Lead Platform & DevOps Engineer to join a high‑impact engineering team that builds and evolves the platform behind modern AI‑driven enterprise solutions. The role is remote‑first, based in Germany, and focuses on designing scalable cloud infrastructure, improving reliability, and accelerating product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain resilient Kubernetes environments (GKE preferred, EKS or other managed services acceptable) and guide engineering teams on platform best practices.
• Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and contribute to migration toward Crossplane.
• Build and enhance internal platform services and automation tools, including Python‑based solutions.
• Manage multi‑region cloud infrastructure, covering Kubernetes clusters, IAM, networking, and identity management on GCP or AWS.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive reliability improvements.
• Lead initiatives for multi‑region deployments, single‑tenant environments, and BYOC architectures.
• Implement observability solutions: dashboards, monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Support FinOps efforts by optimizing cloud resource usage and improving cost visibility.
• Collaborate with software engineers to streamline development workflows and accelerate delivery.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes (GKE, EKS, or similar).
• Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform, and familiarity with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.
• Experience managing IAM and cloud infrastructure on GCP or AWS.
• Deep understanding of cloud‑native architecture, container orchestration, networking, and production‑grade infrastructure.
• Ability to lead complex, multi‑region projects and mentor engineering teams.
