Strategic Category Purchaser – Global Automotive

About the role

AUMOVIO is seeking an experienced Category Purchaser to lead global supplier and category strategy for direct materials and components in a fast‑moving automotive environment. You will act as the champion for key suppliers and drive sourcing initiatives that support the company’s vision of safe, connected, and autonomous mobility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop strategic relationships with key global suppliers.
• Lead sourcing activities including supplier selection, negotiations, contract management, and sourcing decisions.
• Conduct annual price negotiations and implement cost‑reduction and supplier‑improvement programs.
• Perform market analyses and translate insights into actionable sourcing strategies.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to define and roll out a global purchasing strategy across business units.
• Support cooperation and pooling activities with external partners worldwide.

Required profile

• Degree in economics, business, engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Extensive experience in purchasing or supplier‑focused roles, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Strong creativity and ability to develop new sourcing and supply‑chain concepts.
• Independent, self‑driven with a high level of ownership.
• Business‑fluent English (spoken & written) and willingness to travel up to 20%.
