Structure Design Engineer – Satellite Platforms (Berlin)

About the role

As a Structure Design Engineer at Reflex Aerospace, you will create and optimise structural components for high‑performance satellite platforms. You will work in a fast‑growing German aerospace company that has already contributed to more than 100 successful space missions.

Key responsibilities

• Design structural parts and assemblies for satellite platforms and subsystems.
• Produce detailed 3D models and production‑ready drawings using SolidWorks.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation, specifications, analysis reports and review materials.
• Support mechanical and structural testing, verification and validation activities.
• Collaborate with thermal, systems, electrical and integration engineers to ensure system‑level functionality.
• Interface with suppliers and customers to guarantee manufacturability, compliance and smooth integration.
• Apply GD&T and Design‑for‑Manufacturing principles to achieve cost‑effective production.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on structural design experience, preferably in the space industry.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and solid understanding of GD&T.
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, turning, etc.
• Strong technical documentation skills and fluency in English (written and spoken).

Required skills

• SolidWorks CAD modelling.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• CNC machining and related manufacturing knowledge.
• Finite‑Element Analysis tools (e.g., NASTRAN, Optistruct, Simsolid, Inspire) – a plus.
