Substation Package Manager / Expert – Primary Technology

About the role

Elia Grid International is expanding its High Voltage Project Management team and seeks a Substation Package Manager / Expert to lead primary technology packages for HV substations and STATCOM projects. You will be responsible for technical quality, budget and schedule, ensuring successful delivery from concept through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the management of technical packages related to primary and auxiliary systems, from concept and planning through to commissioning.
• Provide technical expertise on primary and auxiliary power systems and define plant‑specific requirements, single‑line diagrams, layouts and system concepts.
• Draft, review and approve technical guidelines and equipment documentation for HV primary equipment.
• Perform quality assurance through factory acceptance tests and on‑site commissioning, and manage tender documents and the tendering process.
• Collaborate with project managers and other package managers on budgeting, scheduling, order placement and site coordination.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, industrial or automation engineering, preferably with a focus on electric power systems.
• Relevant experience in power transmission, especially substations and high‑voltage switchgear up to 400 kV.
• Strong knowledge of high‑voltage technologies and overall HV substation design, including auxiliary systems and interfaces.
• Proficiency with MS Office and MS Visio.
• Independent, proactive problem‑solver with a team‑player attitude.
• Category B driving licence, fluent German (C1) and good English (B2+).
