System Architect for Mission Systems

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a System Architect for Mission Systems to join the Mission Systems Center of Competence in Manching. You will support the medium‑ and long‑term avionics and mission system development for the Eurofighter and Future Combat Air System, translating customer needs into concrete product visions and exploring new operational capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify stakeholders and capture their needs and expectations.
• Define and validate requirements across the full system life‑cycle.
• Design and define system architectures in collaboration with subject‑matter experts.
• Perform trade‑off analyses to select optimal solutions.
• Assess the impact of design changes throughout the product lifecycle.
• Evaluate existing and emerging technologies, including civil and military standards.
• Develop new technologies when concepts cannot be realized with existing solutions.
• Collaborate with other Airbus divisions to ensure a cross‑platform approach.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
