Systems Administrator II

About the role

The Systems Administrator II will work onsite in Hohenfels, Germany, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of both physical and virtual environments. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable IT services and support rotational help‑desk operations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and configure physical and virtual servers across multiple platforms.
• Manage Linux user accounts, security groups, permissions, and file systems.
• Integrate and maintain Active Directory, SSO, DNS, and DHCP services.
• Automate tasks using various scripting languages.
• Monitor system performance with SolarWinds, Splunk, Trellix, vSphere, and ACAS.
• Perform patches, upgrades, and compliance checks against NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, STIGs, and related frameworks.
• Collaborate with systems, network, software, and hardware engineers.
• Provide help‑desk support and training during rotational shifts.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience with a BA/BS (or equivalent) or relevant certifications.
• DoD 8140.03 certification, CompTIA Security+ at hire, and an industry certification (Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, Linux+, or RHCSA) within six months.
• Secret security clearance.
