Tax Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Specialist to lead and support our tax function across Germany and key EU markets. The role combines deep technical analysis with cross‑functional collaboration to ensure compliance and optimise tax positions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth technical analysis, decision‑making and problem‑solving on tax matters.
• Maintain communication with the tax filing agent to ensure accurate, compliant and timely filing of income tax and VAT returns.
• Monitor legislative developments in Germany and other EU markets (e.g., Finland) with external advisors.
• Support transfer‑pricing documentation and proactively identify tax risks.
• Manage tax audits and controversies, coordinating responses with tax authorities.
• Collaborate with global and cross‑functional teams to align with group standards and policies.
• Investigate and respond to internal and external information requests.
• Lead the go‑live of Germany’s E‑invoice system.
• Assist in preparing monthly and annual operational reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in tax, accounting, finance or a related field.
• Strong background in German direct tax, VAT and international tax principles.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Minimum 5 years advisory experience in a large accounting/consultancy firm, law firm, tax authority or in‑house business.
• Extensive experience with corporate income tax, transfer pricing, permanent establishments and cross‑border transactions.
• Proven track record handling complex tax audits and controversies.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work cross‑functionally.
