Teaching Assistant – Molecular & Cellular Physiology (Human Cells)

About the role

The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München seeks a motivated Teaching Assistant to support research and teaching in Molecular and Cellular Physiology of human cells. You will work in a multidisciplinary laboratory environment, contributing to cutting‑edge projects on human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and related cell types.

Key responsibilities

• Culture human iPSCs, neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) in 2‑dimensional formats.
• Perform immunofluorescent staining and acquire high‑resolution microscopy images.
• Generate plasmids for transfection and prepare libraries for RNA‑seq experiments.
• Develop and optimise new protocols for 2D human cell culture.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in biology, developmental biology or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Team‑player attitude and enthusiasm for collaborative, interdisciplinary work.
