About the role

The Teamlead Ocean Freight Export will oversee the export operations of our Düsseldorf hub, ensuring seamless execution of shipments, compliance with regulations, and high customer satisfaction. This position combines operational leadership, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily activities of the Ocean Freight Export team, monitor workloads and ensure timely execution of operational processes.
• Maintain compliance with regulations, documentation standards and company policies while supporting budgeting and cost‑control initiatives.
• Develop and sustain strong relationships with key customers, internal departments, suppliers and external service providers.
• Monitor KPIs, identify process‑optimization opportunities and implement efficiency improvements using IT systems.
• Coach, train and provide performance feedback to team members, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing environment.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience in ocean freight operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business or equivalent commercial training.
• Proven track record handling ocean freight export shipments and a strong understanding of international shipping documentation and logistics workflows.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
• High adaptability to changing processes, policies and operational requirements.
