Tenure Track Assistant Professor – Entrepreneurial Management

About the role

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) seeks a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurial Management. The position is a six‑year fixed‑term W2 professorship with the prospect of promotion to a tenured W3 chair, based at the Garching Campus within the School of Management’s Entrepreneurship Research Institute.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality research in entrepreneurial management, including start‑up, growth, and corporate entrepreneurship.
• Teach undergraduate, master’s and doctoral courses, especially in Management & Technology programmes.
• Secure third‑party research funding and manage research projects.
• Mentor and support early‑career scientists and doctoral candidates.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary programmes across TUM schools.

Required profile

• Outstanding doctoral degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated initial scientific achievements and potential for independent, internationally recognised research.
• Significant research experience abroad.
• Pedagogical aptitude and experience teaching at university level.

Required skills

• Strong research methodology and academic writing skills.
• Experience in obtaining external research funding.
• Ability to develop and deliver university‑level curricula.
