Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Technology Management

About the role

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Technology Management. The six‑year fixed‑term W2 professorship will be based in the TUM School of Management in Munich and may lead to a tenured W3 position.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality research in technology management, focusing on transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital platforms, or green technologies.
• Teach undergraduate, master’s and doctoral courses, including R&D Strategy, Technology Management, and Technology Commercialization.
• Secure third‑party research funding and manage research projects.
• Mentor and promote early‑career scientists.
• Contribute to curriculum development for programmes such as the Bachelor in Management and Technology, MIM, MMI, and the Executive MBA.

Required profile

• Outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification.
• Demonstrated initial scientific achievements and capacity for independent research at the highest international level.
• Substantial research experience abroad.
• Pedagogical aptitude and experience teaching at university level.
