Trainee Biology Teacher

About the role

Join Lift Schools' Classroom‑based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme as a Trainee Biology Teacher. You will work in one of our 57 schools, gaining hands‑on classroom experience while completing a PGCE and achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Key responsibilities

• Deliver biology lessons to secondary‑school students under the guidance of a tutor and in‑school coach.
• Develop and adapt lesson plans, assessments and classroom resources.
• Participate in a two‑week intensive summer school preparation in August.
• Attend weekly training sessions with Ark Teacher Training and fellow trainees.
• Engage with the national support network of current and former trainees.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in Biology or a related science (1st, 2:1 or 2:2).

What we offer

• Graduate Teaching Apprenticeship salary of £21,731 (plus tuition fees covered) and a bursary/scholarship up to £30,000.
• Second‑year guaranteed salary of £31,650.
