About the role
We are seeking a motivated Training Officer to join the Training unit of Serco’s Spacecraft Operations Centre. The role involves designing, developing and delivering training programmes for satellite flight‑control teams, ground‑station operators and mission support staff, ensuring they stay current with the latest satellite technology and operational procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain training curricula for all operational personnel.
- Create and manage training plans, schedules and proficiency/refreshment modules.
- Deliver theoretical and hands‑on training sessions, using simulations and tests where appropriate.
- Maintain training documentation in line with operational updates and lessons learned.
- Define, coordinate and execute certification processes for assigned roles.
- Provide feedback, monitor proficiency and arrange remedial training or recertification as needed.
- Act as backup for the Head of the Training Unit when required.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, space science or a related field.
- 5+ years experience in satellite operations or ground‑systems environments.
- 2+ years experience in training, instructional design or adult education, preferably technical.
- Familiarity with ESA/Eumetsat operational contexts is an advantage.
