VIE – Avionics Architecture Engineer (d/f/m)

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a highly motivated graduate to join the Avionics and Systems Architecture Department in Donauwörth as a VIE (Volunteer for International Experience). You will work on the development and maintenance of avionics architectures using Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Familiarise yourself with Airbus Group methods and tools for MBSE.
• Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of MBSE methodology for avionics systems.
• Build SysML models of avionics subsystems for rotor‑craft projects.
• Support Avionics Architecture activities on a specific helicopter platform.
• Document and communicate your work to stakeholders across multiple teams.
• Collaborate with cockpit UI, methods & tools, software developers, and simulator teams.

Required profile

• University degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• First practical experience with Systems Engineering and MBSE.
• Ability to formalise and present complex subjects clearly.
• Team spirit, good communication skills and a structured way of working.
• Fluent English; German and French are a plus.
