W2 Professorship in Artificial Intelligence & Intelligent Systems

About the role

The university is establishing a W2 professorship dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems. The position is 100% full‑time and will initially be offered on a fixed‑term basis for two years, with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of a Master's program in Neurorobotics and support student recruitment.
• Deliver live masterclasses and expert seminars in English on machine learning, decision‑making models, adaptive systems, and AI‑supported quality assurance.
• Supervise students, mentor project work, and design assessment formats including portfolios, exams, and master’s theses.
• Conduct practice‑oriented research and transfer projects in AI, robotics, and autonomous systems in collaboration with industry, healthcare, mobility, and international partners.
• Initiate research collaborations, acquire third‑party funding, and represent the university at conferences and industry events.
• Participate in research‑related product development, start‑up ventures, and patent applications.
• Contribute to university governance, program development, and international cooperation.

Required profile

• Proven academic record in AI, robotics, or related fields.
• Experience in supervising graduate students and managing research projects.
• Ability to secure external funding and build industry partnerships.
• Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and university development activities.
