Working Student Designer – Design System (Heartbeat AI)

About the role

We are looking for a Working Student Designer to join the Heartbeat AI product design team, focusing on the design system. This role is not limited to side‑tasks and will help shape the shared design language, components, tokens, patterns and documentation for consistent product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to a scalable, code‑aligned design system and keep it consistent across Heartbeat.
• Audit, structure and document components, tokens and UI patterns.
• Provide reusable building blocks to speed up handoff for designers and engineers.
• Use AI‑enhanced tools such as Figma, Claude and Cursor to explore, document and iterate quickly.
• Partner with designers and engineers, ask insightful questions and make decisions easy to follow.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in UX, Interaction Design, HCI, Visual Communication or a related field.
• Systems‑curious and care about how components and tokens scale.
• Autonomous, spotting gaps and proposing next steps.
• Deliberate, moving fast without rushing architecture.
• Eager to learn and comfortable using AI in the workflow.
• Clear communicator in English; German is a plus.
