Working Student Frontend Engineer (Remote, Germany)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated working student to join the AI & Analytics Group of BASF’s Global Procurement division. You will help develop and enhance frontend applications that support strategic decision‑making in procurement, working remotely from Germany.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into high‑quality, user‑friendly frontend solutions.
• Develop components using TypeScript and React, applying state‑management patterns.
• Integrate REST APIs and collaborate with backend engineers.
• Maintain code quality, usability and performance while continuously improving existing features.
• Work closely with designers, product owners and other developers in an agile environment.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a university program in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Fluent English communication skills; German is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to ask insightful questions.

Required skills

• TypeScript
• React (including Hooks, Context API, Redux)
• Axios (or similar HTTP client)
• Understanding of REST APIs
• Experience with UI libraries such as Material Design, Ant Design or styled‑components (optional)
