Working Student – Indirect Tax (VAT)

About the role

Join BASF's Global Business Services as a Working Student in the Indirect Tax (VAT) unit. You will gain hands‑on experience preparing VAT returns, recapitulative statements and Intrastat filings while supporting the mapping of accounting data.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate VAT returns and related documentation.
• Compile recapitulative statements and Intrastat returns.
• Assist with accounting mapping and data validation.
• Support analysis and evaluation of existing business processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Master Data and Sales teams.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an economic or finance‑related study program.
• Basic knowledge of VAT regulations and first practical experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong interest in tax topics and willingness to develop step by step.
• Good communication skills in English; additional European language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Basic knowledge of SAP (desirable).
