Working Student – Simulation Control UI Software Infrastructure

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a working student to support the Simulation UI Systems department in Manching. The role involves approximately 18 hours per week over a 12‑18 month fixed‑term contract, starting 01.11.2026. You will gain hands‑on experience in high‑fidelity flight‑simulator development.

Key responsibilities

• Support development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the software build, integration and test toolchain.
• Contribute to the modernization of dependency and package‑management infrastructure.
• Assist in enabling cross‑platform software builds.
• Design, develop, test and maintain software, writing clean and efficient code.
• Analyze and debug software issues and fix bugs.

Required profile

• Enrolled full‑time student in Computer Science or a related field.
• Practical experience in C++ software development.
• Knowledge of Qt/QML, Python and DevOps pipelines (CMake, Conan, Jenkins) is an asset.
• Fluent English communication skills.
