Accountant – Financial Reporting (Italian) – Hybrid (Berlin)

About the role

Join BASF's Global Business Services as an Accountant in the Financial Reporting team. You will work in a hybrid setting from Berlin, handling general ledger activities and acting as a key interface between subsidiaries, finance departments, and the group headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Process business transactions in the general ledger, asset and lease accounting, and reconcile sub‑ledgers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, HGB and local GAAP for European BASF Group companies.
• Support income‑tax calculations and provide input for group reporting.
• Serve as the central contact for accounting matters with subsidiaries, other finance units and external auditors.
• Participate in projects, tool development and the implementation of SAP S/4HANA.

Required profile

• Degree in business administration or an apprenticeship focused on accounting, or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel; experience with SAP R/3 and SAP S/4HANA is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Italian.
• Highly motivated, independent, analytical and enthusiastic about process automation and digitisation.
