Backend Software Engineer – AI Music Video Platform

About the role

Neural Frames is building an AI‑powered music video generator that transforms any song into a fully produced video in minutes. As a Backend Software Engineer you will own the systems that turn songs into videos, ensuring they run reliably at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Python backend services that orchestrate multiple AI providers and handle cost, latency and failure trade‑offs.
• Build and operate video generation pipelines, model orchestration, queue management and supporting infrastructure.
• Improve reliability, latency and cost of the generation stack, shaving seconds off renders and reducing per‑video expenses.
• Collaborate with the founder and tech lead on architecture for new product surfaces.
• Instrument, monitor and troubleshoot production systems with full visibility.
• Contribute to AI/ML components such as prompt engineering, model evaluation, fine‑tuning pipelines and experimentation with new models.

Required profile

• Proven experience shipping production Python back‑ends that handle async workloads, queues and retries.
• Comfort working with AI APIs and making decisions around cost, latency, failure modes and model selection.
• Strong systems thinking: you investigate root causes rather than applying quick patches.
• High agency: you identify bottlenecks and fix them without waiting for tickets.
• Passion for generative AI, demonstrated by personal projects or side work.
• Based in Berlin and able to work on‑site at least four days per week.
